SG/GK Progress Update
Here's some of what I've been up to the past two weeks:

We booked a location for the chapel scenes. The indoor site I really wanted was already reserved, but this other site has plenty of character. I hadn't envisioned an outdoor chapel initially, but I think it will work out. Taking advantage of the natural scenery means less construction for us!

We finished four benches yesterday. These will be used in the chapel, Camelot and the HD feast hall, so it's a good thing they're sturdy.

Earlier in the week, I went a little crazy cataloguing the dishes so
eekabelle can start planning the menu and arrangement of dishes for the feasts. It's a good sign that I'm missing my engineering job just a little bit when I start treating art projects like lab experiments.

We also got started on the fancy bed that will be in Gawain's guest room in the HD castle.
nasu_dengaku has graciously agreed to use his laser-fu to make the filigree panels,
eekabelle is providing the bed frame and I found the curtains and bedspread at Target. Here's the mock-up I created to size the panels & work out the color scheme:

and here's the image that will be used for the laser cutter. I cribbed the design from a 19th century Chinese screen, modifying it slightly to fit a different aspect ratio.

Last but not least, I finished making a wardrobe for the guest room. I started with an IKEA bookcase, then added doors and legs. For the paint scheme, I wanted it to look similar but not identical to the two bedside tables I had painted earlier. Fortuitously, my friend who's been vacationing in China recently emailed me with photos from her trip. She'd taken close-up photos of some temple decorations just for me! They look lovely on the front of the wardrobe. The anthropomorphic location of the knobs is just a bonus.
