SG/GK random designs

Here are a few of the things I've been working on:

Mock-up of the Green Knight's axe for Section 1

(and the plastic hub cap I found in our yard last week that I plan to make the axe out of)

Mock-up of some stained glass windows for the great hall in Camelot. In keeping with the Camelot=Mexico theme, the center images will all be from the Loteria game.

Sketches for a High Desert hunting chariot.

These only exist digitally so far, but I'm hoping to build the first chariot this week (mostly as a prototype for the others, but I'm sure we'll use this one in the back somewhere too). I've already taken salvaged wheels from my old wrecked bike and ordered some axle parts from McMaster-Carr ... next step is raiding our scrap wood pile to build the box.

In other news, people near San Jose should check out Triangle Machinery before they close their doors in August - there are just piles and piles of fabulous industrial surplus in need of a good home: gears, motors, tubing, drill bits, oscilloscopes, and more! I myself am now the proud owner of a control pad for a robotic arm (only $5!). I don't have the robotic arm, though; I'll have to see what I can do to remedy that.

The hubcap axe looks *outstanding*!

:) Thanks! [livejournal.com profile] mister_b33's not quite sold on it yet, but I'm hoping he'll come around.

I'm not sure how easy it will be to cut the hubcap to the right shape, but your design for it is great.

Sorry, [livejournal.com profile] mister_b33, you're wrong :P

It's just plastic, so I'm betting a Dremel tool should shape it easy enough. I knew all that medical device prototyping would come in handy some day. ;)

Thursday sounds good to me. I'll make some comments on the spreadsheet you shared in the meantime.
