Just a quick post before I tumble into bed for some much needed sleep:
* Prophecy was amazing in about 7 million ways that I can't even begin to describe!!! (have started and deleted about four different attempts so far ... we'll see if more sleep helps at all)
* If you're interested in the slides from my con presentation "Photography as Fan Art", they can be found here. Hopefully I'll add commentary as well later on, but for now it's just the pix.
* This new LJ kerfluffle is very distracting, but
fandom_flies looks shiny.
* I'm certainly thinking about porn and subversiveness a lot lately. I can only imagine this will result in good things.

Date: 2007-08-08 06:36 am (UTC)I would have liked to of seen your presentation! (Never actually been to a con tho ^^;;;) Did people feel photography was a valid form of fan art for the most part? I've wondered before if people think my Snarry doll photography isnt acceptable as fanart because its not drawn.
Did you make that pixie?? Its bad ass!!! Love it!!

Date: 2007-08-09 04:24 am (UTC)Almost all of the fanartists I met were drawers, and they were all really welcoming of my photo-oriented self, so I think that photography was accepted as valid. I didn't hear anyone say anything negative at all. I, for one, just love the gorgeous dolls you have created and am happy to know another fan-photographer!
Yes, I made the pixies. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out and hope to work them into future photos as well. The last two pages of the gallery of presentation photos are a making-of-the-pixies series if you want to see more about them.

Date: 2007-08-16 08:34 pm (UTC)Congratulations on all the determination to buy Rub a Dub Dub at the auction (which I missed, being halfway to Niagara by then). I knew Toy was determined to have it - but I met other people who were determined too. (However, Toy has this habit of clearing her credit card pre-con, wise woman, and a clear understanding that she deserves to have what she truly wants, if mere money will do it.)
LJ is being so distracting (and knee-jerk idiotic); I'm glad you're not letting it stop you.

Date: 2007-08-23 03:04 pm (UTC)I'm slowly setting up on InsaneJournal as well, but mostly what I want to do is work on producing more porn! Hopefully I'll be able to make some cool new things in the next month or so. :)
