Woo hoo! One weekend down, eight more to go. Thank you to all who helped make the first weekend of shooting for Sir Gawain & the Green Knight such a success! The book is going to look great!

I've posted some behind-the-scenes photos (taken by various folks with the back-up camera that was passed around) as well as some images that approximate what will end up in the book. I was tempted to call those "production stills", but since they're all stills it seemed redundant. I've done some quick & dirty photoshopping on them but I've definitely got a lot of work to look forward to in post-processing in order to polish them up. Still, I think there's a lot of potential there and I'm quite encouraged with the progress so far. It's a little hard to believe it's actually happening!

The pics look awesome! Is there any way you could post a cast/crew list somewhere (maybe somewhere protected) so that those of us that aren't there right now can find out who is involved in the project and playing the different roles?

Yay! I'm glad you like them!
As for a cast/crew list, you should have access to the invites for the Hunt & Camelot weekends so you can see specifically who will be there then. Does that work?

Thank you! I'm taking a break from spraypainting some set pieces right now ... we've still got some last minute stuff to assemble for the bedroom scenes we'll shoot this weekend, but so far the set looks pretty cool. It's all so exciting!

The ninjas look really good with their ladders removed. Now I can't wait to see how some of the other photos turn out once they've been edited.

By the way, the 'raised' drawbridge is awfully impressive, too!

Thanks! It still looks "photoshopped" to me, so I'm hoping I can improve it in time, but it's nice to know that it looks somewhat believable already. Also, thank you so much for your help so far ... you've been an invaluable asset!

I know, me too! I had some hopes of doing the editing in parallel (i.e., in between weekend shoots) but there's still so much preparation to be done I think it's not going to happen. Oh well. And since I can't say it enough times, thanks again for all the work you are putting into those preparations! With your help, this book is going to be super awesome!

I'm giggling with glee over here now that I know who Sir Gawain and the Host are. I didn't think it was possible to look forward to this more :-) Hee!

They are both such good sports about it all. I'm lucky to have such tolerant models for those two parts. I am curious about how they'll react as we shoot some of the later scenes ... ;)

cool, progress!

Thanks! It's so exciting to finally be starting! There are still a lot of things to plan (like locations ... and thanks again, by the way, for your help with that!) but there's just something cool about officially getting the ball rolling.
