I made this a few months ago for my turn at the weekly sketchbook our movie group passes around. It's only tangentially related to the prompt (which was "Borderline") but I'm really pleased with how it turned out. The results were intriguing ... I'm not sure what I expected, but I was still surprised. Hooray for empirical data! Science is most fun when it's surprising, I think. Otherwise we'd be all theory and no practice, and practice is definitely the fun part.
Using words instead of fics would have also been an interesting stat, but counting fic titles in my Kindle (and the miscellaneous paperback novel stacked by my bed) was much easier. I'm guessing that number of words read (or perhaps even better, number of hours spent reading) would be more evenly distributed across time.
Oooh! I wonder whether some enterprising AO3 coder will ever be inspired to add a graphical personal reading stats feature to the site. That would be extremely cool!
